I was struggling with my golf.  I was duffing too many shots, my handicap was going the wrong way and I was often having difficulty keeping below 100 for a round.  I took up Jason’s offer for a winter warmer.  Two lessons corrected my swing.  Nothing dramatic but I now consistently hit the ball before hitting the ground.  I can even take a divot.  A short game lesson gave me more confidence on chips over an obstacle – first game out and I chipped over a bank and in to save the hole.  I have reduced my handicap and I am fairly consistently below 90 for the round.  And now I am back to enjoying my golf, it is no longer just a test of my patience.  The lessons were a good investment.

I took lessons before at a well known Driving Range in the Reading Area on and off over a 6-9 month period, Even though in the early stages it was working well for some reason I started to lose a lot of distance with all my clubs and really struggled with golf for months on end. I decided to knock the lessons on the head as I was now getting worse not better and at the stage of nearly giving up golf completely.   I played a round one Saturday at my local golf club Goring & Streatley. I happened to play with the club pro, Jason and a couple of mates.   As we were playing I explained my predicament to Jason, who made the ultimate promise to sort out my game.  To which I thought, nothing to lose, I may as well let him do his worse. Initially we worked on a few basic drills to try and help me get some distance back. Jason kept things simple and did not overload the session with trying out to many different drills at once and over complicating things. One of the things that impressed me most is  that he had done his homework on my swing when we played on that Saturday, which meant he had already thought about the best drills to help me out, rather that wasting a couple of lessons trying to work out what I was doing wrong.   Through Jason’s teaching techniques I have continued to strive forward and I am now enjoying my golf again. My distance has nearly come back totally and my short game lessons I am having through the winter months are proving invaluable.   With the lads I play with on a Saturday my handicap has dropped from 16 to 10.  That means the money I have won off them pays for my very worth while lessons!!
